Refrigerant leak diagnosis and repair in Fresno

Weak cooling, ice, or unusual sounds can have several causes. A technician must inspect the system to determine whether refrigerant is leaking and what repair is needed.

Symptoms are not a diagnosis

Tell the office what changed and when. Do not assume every cooling problem means the system needs refrigerant. Adding refrigerant without addressing a leak does not fix the cause, and using the wrong type can damage equipment.

Ask what the repair includes

Ask how the leak was located, what part needs work, whether further testing is needed, and what refrigerant the equipment requires. Review the full repair scope and cost before approving it. Refrigerant work needs appropriate training, tools, and certification; leave it to a qualified technician.

A repair diagnosis has a visit charge. Read what a repair visit costs for the first-hour charge, additional time, parts, after-hours rates, and travel charges. The technician explains repair options and costs before you approve repair work.

What if the system uses R-22?

EPA allows legally available R-22 to be used to service existing equipment. The phaseout of new production and import does not require an owner to replace a working system. Availability and cost can affect repair options. Read EPA’s refrigerant service questions.

A different refrigerant is not a universal drop-in replacement. Ask about equipment compatibility, the proposed work, and warranty before approving a change.

Compare the options

Installation and replacement estimates are free. Already have a repair, installation, or replacement quote from another company? Ask about our free second quote. A request becomes an appointment when the office confirms the date and time.

If you notice a gas odor or another immediate safety concern, use emergency guidance rather than waiting for a service-request reply.
