Find current Fresno County cooling-center information

Cooling-center locations, opening times, and activation rules can change. Use the county’s current information and confirm that a location is open before traveling.

Check the official list

Fresno County’s extreme-heat page links to cooling-center information and heat resources for Fresno and nearby communities. Check the date, the location’s hours, and any access or transport information. A location listed on an old social post may not be open today.

When cooling at home is not enough

If you cannot keep your home safely cool, use the county resources to find an open air-conditioned location. Do not wait for a repair appointment when you need relief from dangerous heat. For a medical emergency, call 911.

Heat stroke is a medical emergency. CDC’s heat-illness guidance explains warning signs and first-aid steps. Suspected heat stroke needs emergency help; this HVAC page cannot assess a person’s condition.

Request AC help separately

Tell Nalk your city, what the AC is doing, and whether the system has stopped entirely. Staff discusses your request and confirms an appointment date and time. Sending a message does not reserve a visit or establish a response time.

A repair diagnosis has a visit charge. Read what a repair visit costs for the first-hour charge, additional time, parts, after-hours rates, and travel charges. The technician explains repair options and costs before you approve repair work.

Keep the current resources handy

Save the official county page rather than a screenshot of a past list. Share that link with someone who may need help finding an open location. Nalk does not operate the cooling centers or control their opening times.
